On a recent trip to the award winning, Chester Fields Pub at Mickle Trafford to meet TC Awards Presenter and owner of We Love Cheshire, Izzy Grey, Izzy and I made an astounding discovery. You see, we think where food and drink and good times are concerned we pretty much know all the cool places and best deals, so for us this discovery really was something special.
It’s not the first time we have met at The Chester Fields, in fact we tootle up and down that road fairly regularly. It’s not even the first time we noticed the sign that prompted this amazing discovery; but it is the first time that we both had the time and were brave enough to do a bit of discovering. I say brave enough simply because of the imposing nature of the exterior of our discovery, the superbly manicured gardens and the fabulous colours that decorate our discovery. You see their signage is – well, less than helpful. Its almost like they want to keep it a secret, but this time we weren’t to be deterred.
So here it is, if you have ever been travelling along A56 in the region of the Chester Fields, have you ever seen a simply sign that says Neptune – nothing else, just Neptune and have you ever, like Izzy and I wondered what was inside this fantastic looking “ex pub” – well we did and we went discovering – and guess what we found – the most fantastic showroom of kitchens, bedrooms bathrooms and interiors. It really was quite amazing. Here, just 4 miles from Chester, with loads of free parking was this beautifully decorated series of rooms, they have five separate kitchen settings, 3 bedroom settings, an equal amount of bathrooms, fabulously blended fabrics, chairs, tables, although sympathetically matched with candles, baskets and flowers. It really is an Aladdin’s cave and to think I have driven past here regularly and never questioned it.
So Izzy and I decided we would tell a few people about this great place. You can go in whenever you want, they will happily make you a drink and you can just cruise around this amazing showroom and look at kitchen after kitchen, then bedrooms and bathrooms and if nothing else get some great ideas. They have colour pallets, they have paints and fabrics and I know that if you and a couple of your friends met up you could happily enjoy a couple of hours just looking and talking – we did. Who knows you might even buy a new kitchen!
It’s called Neptune and its on the A56, right near the Chester Fields pub. Take some time out and pay them a visit, it’s just one of those places that makes you feel good as you look around. We really enjoyed our stop and to think we might have just kept driving past!
