Wrexham Lager have joined Taste Cheshire in their hunt to find the Best Pub in the Taste Cheshire Awards by becoming the sponsor of the Best Pub Catergory in 2019.

Chief Executive Stephen Wundke was thrilled to have attracted such a high profile sponsor to this all important category as he explained, “Wrexham Lager have a unique place in UK brewing, being the oldest and first Lager producer in the UK and the first in the World to export Lager. They even pre-date that well known Australian tipple and to think they are on our doorstep, it really is a fabulous story and one that we are delighted to now be a part of. Mark Roberts and his team have done an amazing job of modernising the facilities and finding the essence of Wrexham Lager and we couldn’t be happier to be working with them on this all-important category”

Mark Roberts, CEO of Wrexham Lager was also pleased to be joining up with Taste Cheshire and said “Wrexham Lager has a unique place in British Brewing and we have stayed true to our roots by finding the original strain of yeast and combining that in our process with our great lager recipe to ensure credibility of taste and quality and that is what we are looking for in our partners and more importantly in the nominations for the category of The Best Pub, that we are sponsoring. The Pub has changed a lot over the years and these days the old spit and sawdust is a long way removed from the havens that serve quality artisan ales and home cooked foods. We are looking forward to seeing who the public loves, with their nominations and how our judges will find the winners in what is an incredibly competitive market place. Cheshire and North Wales really do have a lot of extra special pubs.”

The Taste Cheshire Awards are now in their 20th year and voting for these awards has exceeded 40,000 votes for the last two years with organisers expecting those figures to be surpassed in 2019. Voting closes on the 3rd of March when the nominations will be advised and then each of the nominations will be mystery dined or shopped before the winners are revealed in a glittering awards dinner in front of 400 of the hospitality trade at Chester Racecourse on the 24th April.

To vote simply go to www.tastecheshire.com/vote and cast your votes in the various categories. You have until 3rd of March.
