Lucky us! to be invited to indulge in the first Wednesday of Yummy Mummy Coffee and Cake events. It would be rude not too accept that invite now wouldn’t it!

So Briony and I didn’t need any encouragement to pop out at lunchtime for our treat. And a treat it was.

We were served by a lovely lady who was just as excited about the Yummy Mummy days as were were. I ordered a black coffee and coffee cake – being a coffee addict! and Briony opted for hot chocolate and Vanilla sponge cake. My eyes were certainly bigger than my belly as I eagerly tucked into the cake which was beautifully moist and tasting just like coffee cake should – of coffee.  The icing and filling were not too sweet, just perfect I’d say. Briony and I did agree that we would share cakes so we could both enjoy a ‘bit of both’. The Victoria sandwich did not disappoint either, it was lovely and light with just enough filling to not be sickly.

On reluctantly finishing our drinks and cake to head back to work! We were advised by the chef that the cakes would change each week – and of course had to be tasted by chef first to make sure they were of the best standard!! Cheeky chef.

Starting this week, The White Horse are introducing coffee and cake for just £2.50 between 10am and 3pm, every Wednesday. What a bargain, what a great venue and a great way to catch up with friends.

You don’t need to be a Yummy Mummy to indulge either!
