Evuna, the North West’s leading Spanish restaurant, tapas bar and fine wine merchant who, this year is celebrating 15 years since the launch of its first restaurant, has started work on a fourth site in the centre of Altrincham.

The award-winning restaurant group currently has two branches in Manchester city centre (on Deansgate and in the Northern Quarter), with a third in the Cheshire town of Knutsford.

Evuna’s new site in Altrincham is located at the old Yorkshire bank site 84-86 Stamford New Road. It was formerly Eat Kaizen. The team is aiming to be open during February 2019. The new opening will create around 20 new jobs and the company is currently on the lookout for applicants from the local area

In a similar style to Evuna in Knutsford, the Altrincham venue will boast a 24 cover tapas bar perfect for enjoying a wine, tapas and socialising. There will be a dining room with around 55 covers, suitable for both small and large groups.

As with all of the Evuna sites, Altrincham will feature an Evuna wine shop alongside the bar and restaurant, where residents of Altrincham will be able to taste and purchase Evuna’s exclusive wines from a selection of boutique Spanish wineries to take away and drink at their leisure. All Evuna stocked wines are imported from family run vineyards that have several generations worth of experience. Evuna restaurants are the only Spanish restaurants in the UK that import directly from source.

Founded by Jane and Frances Dowler, The Evuna Restaurant Group’s guiding principles are to pay homage to all things Spanish and to remain fiercely loyal to the country’s rich and diverse food and wine offerings. The first Evuna opened its doors in October 2003, with the aim of creating an environment so reminiscent of Spain’s culture of eating out that customers felt utterly immersed in a totally authentic Spanish dining experience

The Evuna Restaurant Group encourages independence and creativity, allowing each branch and chef to develop a signature style.  Evuna Altrincham will serve staple tapas, such as albonigas, calamares and bravas; whilst also including monthly regional specials, using modern fusion techniques to showcase a wider range of tapas dishes.

Wine is, of course, integral to the Evuna experience, with the restaurant planning monthly highlights on specific wines. Customers will be able to enjoy a range of Spanish wines from regions such as Catalunya, Galicia, Rioja or Navarra, alongside specially created, authentic dishes from the same region.

Evuna founder, Jane Dowler said: “It’s hard to believe it’s been fifteen years since we opened our first site.  Then the UK market considered the world of Spanish wines to consist of just Rioja and Sherry.  Now – thankfully! – it’s so much more than this.

“Evuna’s mission is to provide the finest Spanish wines at a great price and it appears to be working here in the North West as we continue to grow.

“We have been looking to open a site in Altrincham for a while now. It’s become a vibrant town centre thanks to the market and attracted a number of quality eateries, making it a real food and drink destination. Many of our existing customers at our Manchester and Knutsford sites live around the Altrincham area and they are excited we will be opening on their doorstep.”
