Luxe Steak and Lobster Deal to Turn your Head #Review

At Taste Cheshire we spend a lot of time looking at menus, deals and pictures of food as you can imagine and recently one deal really turned my head. Brasserie Abode have been running a Luxe Steak, Lobster & Bottle of Prosecco for Two at just £49 and unlike some, it is available daily. So, we decided to give it ago last Saturday; we booked in advance as recommended and the Abode website made this so simple to do so online.

The Brasserie Abode is a lovely setting with a relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere, it is so much more than a restaurant within a hotel, it offers a beautiful option for its guest but is truly a destination restaurant. It has fabulous views of Chester overlooking the Castle and Racecourse and its central location makes it one to add to your Hit list.

When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted by a very friendly maitre’d and given the option to take a drink at the bar or go through to our table as we were a little early, we opted to go through to our table. The Brasserie is in two sections, a large bar area with relaxed booths and tables for drink service and a slightly more formal restaurant area. We had decided to dine quite early in the evening but there were quite a few families and other dinner enjoying their food. As our evening progressed the restaurant got rather full mainly with couples on date nights enjoying the same deal as us.

Our server again was very friendly and offered us the opportunity to have a look over the menu at starters, whilst they prepared the bottle of prosecco that came with the deal. We opted to forgo starters as from the pictures we were expecting a rather a large portion for mains and wanted to enjoy it; we weren’t wrong. The service remained brilliant throughout the entire evening with our server bringing across some bread just shortly after we ordered and regularly coming over to top up our glasses and water, without the feeling of being watched.

Just before our mains were served, the table was cleared slightly to make more room, we were provide with warmed plates and moments later a large slate with the Steak, Lobster and Frites arrived – it was beautifully presented. We had asked for our Steak medium rare and it came sliced in 2 portions. The meat melted in the mouth and the melted garlic butter which topped this and the Lobster was a great addition, since we had chosen not to go for a sauce. Personally, I prefer to enjoy the flavour of the meat without. The Lobster as you would expect was buttery, soft and rich, and for most as this isn’t something you eat everyday really made the meal feel special. The frites were perfectly crisp with just the right amount of salt, they were served in little silver bowls with handles, so you could easily pour them out on to your plate. Throughout the meal again our servers were very attentive and once we had finished they cleared very swiftly.

Again we had the option to peruse the menu for desserts or after dinner drinks but, we just didn’t have room. However, the staff did not rush us a way we were encouraged to take our time and enjoy the lovely setting whilst finishing off our bottle of fizz, despite the tables quickly filling up. I would recommend the Abode to anyone especially for the Luxe Steak and Lobster deal, it is not just great value but delicious and a really treat as well. The deal is available until the 23^rd November, and hopefully will return in the New Year, perhaps with a new exciting twist.
