Congratulations to Taste Cheshire members Upstairs at the Grill, who have been named the North West’s ‘Restaurant of the Year’ at the 4th annual Food Awards England.
They beat off stiff competition from a number of restaurants, with nominees decided based on guest feedback and comments from secret diners.
In a double whammy for the Chester-based establishment, Head Chef Dicson Li was named Chef of the Year at the Manchester Piccadilly Hotel ceremony.
Dicson told the Chester Chronicle: “This is a great honour for me personally but also really reflects the hard work of the whole team here at Upstairs At The Grill. We take our craft extremely seriously and are passionate about what we do. We have some wonderful guests and really want to thank them for their continued support over the years.”
Upstairs at the Grill is influenced by both sides of the Atlantic Ocean; blending the charm and style of an upmarket Manhattan steakhouse with the best local, seasonal produce.
The Upstairs is a sumptuous bar area with a luxurious and even decadent atmosphere, perfect for pre-dinner drinks and cocktails. The quality wine list includes some well thought out recommendations from the in house sommelier.
Downstairs, the grill itself has been created to offer a dining experience not to be forgotten. The menu features more interesting and flavoursome cuts of meat that you’re not likely to find anywhere else in Chester.
All their steaks are 5 week aged Premium Welsh Beef from butcher’s William’s of Flint after the owners went to great lengths finding the best possible quality beef.
Open Monday to Wednesday 5pm-10.30pm, Thursday to Saturday 12pm-10.30pm and Sundays 12pm-9.30pm, why not pop in yourself and sample the award-winning experience.
